Journalism 133: Prof. Craig: Story Ideas Exercise, Part II
Story Ideas Exercise,
Part II
In your last assignment, you were told to go out on campus as a group and find ideas for interesting news stories on student life. For Part II, your group will take another group's ideas, choose one, then write up a story and sidebar using the guidelines the other students have provided. Check your email for the story ideas.
You are not required to adhere strictly to their story angles or suggestions -- just use them as a beginning point for putting together an interesting story package. If you want to drastically change the main story topic, please email me and tell me why you want to do it.
The main story should be a minimum of 750 words; the sidebar should be a minimum of 300 words, with at least three interviews. Note that these are minimums -- if the topic lends itself to something longer, go for it. You can divide the labor however you like, but each of you will be graded on the entire package, so you should go over your fellow group members' work before you turn it in.
You will have the entire class period Thursday to work on the assignment. It will be due Friday, Nov. 8 at midnight.
